Her name is [lastfm]Christina Perri[/lastfm], she’s 23 years old – a Philadelphia native, she moved to LA on her 21st birthday with one suitcase and a guitar to pursue her dreams. Just two weeks ago was a waitress at Melrose Place Café and after one national TV play of her song on June 30th, she’s sold 100K+ copies of the single and has become one of the most talked about new artists around.

[photogallerylink id=8825 align=left]In a nutshell, one of her demos – “Jar of Hearts” – found its way to choreographer Stacey Tookey at hit FOX competition show So You Think You Can Dance and she fell in love with the song. On June 30th it became available digitally and debuted on the show, the next day her song was Top 15 on the iTunes chart and Top 10 on Amazon.

A week after her TV debut, “Jar of Hearts” sold 50K copies and debuted at #26 on Billboard’s Single Sales Chart. And two weeks later the single has sold more than 100K copies and is climbing the sales and Hot 100 charts without any radio. On Saturday July 10th she performed the song live on CBS’ The Early Show and was featured in USA Today and Billboard.
