Your Organs Can Send Status Updates To Your Phone

Can you imagine a future so technologically advanced that your body organs are capable of sending status updates to your phone and your body can be connected to the internet? Hard to believe, yes, but this could be useful for many people, including myself. A system has been developed to send data about how your body is performing directly to your mobile phone. This system was demonstrated earlier this week by Dutch researchers and scientists. A platform within your body allows sensors placed inside the body to send readings via a short range radio network to that person’s phone. That person can then forward the information to a doctor through any simple WiFi or 3G connection. The person can question a particular organ and can even read the updates themselves on their screen prior to forwarding on. The system was demonstrated with electrocardiogram sensors for the heart. However, the system can allegedly work with sensors for other parts of the body in order to monitor conditions in the brain, muscles, and even people at risk for developing future conditions in certain areas. Athletes will be able to use the system to monitor their performance. The system works via a dongle plugged into the SD card slot and the software is in the form of an app.
