Rihanna premiered her video for ‘Man Down’ and much like ‘S&M’, it is causing some controversy. The video was shot in Jamaica and ends with Rihanna killing a man who assaulted her.

Several advocacy groups are protesting Rihanna’s ‘Man Down’ video because of its violent imagery. The singer took to Twitter and said the video had a “very strong underlying message 4 girls like me.”

Hey, you all, I just w want you to look back and say through all the rough times I was safe and not hurt physically because I HAVE been there even though you don’t believe it. I hate the S&M song. At least this message will reach someone. Love you like a sister, a Christian lady.
