When [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Beyonce[/lastfm]’s new video for her latest single “Countdown” first dropped, it was clear that she used inspiration from fashion icon’s like Audry Hepburn and Diana Ross. As far as the choreography goes, her moves seemed far from inspiration and more like plagiarism. German choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker responded to the video saying:

“I didn’t know anything about this. I’m not mad, but this is plagiarism. This is stealing. They took pieces from Achterland and Rosas danst Rosas. It’s a bit rude, I must say. What’s rude about it is that they don’t even bother about hiding it.”

Beyonce’s only comments on the accusation stated Anne’s videos were used as “inspiration”. As of now, the parts Beyonce’s original video that were very similar have been removed and replaced with more images of her dancing. Here is her original “Countdown” video compared to Ann’s videos. You decide if Beyonce used inspiration or plagiarism.
