With a new single rising up the charts and a new album ahead, B.o.B has vowed to put the ongoing feud with Odd Future frontman, Tyler, The Creator, behind him. While the conflict became personal and public, B.o.B. says there was never any threat of violence.

“I didn’t think it was gonna escalate,” he told GQ, for the magazine’s March 2012 issue. “The whole beef thing is kinda lame…I’m not gonna walk around the earth mad at some random person. It’s pointless.”

The war of words started in 2011, with the release of Tyler the Creator’s single “Yonkers,” on which Tyler, unprovoked, called B.o.B. a “f****t n***a.”

Not to be outdone, B.o.B. responded on “No Future,” where he referred to Tyler’s Odd Future collective as “clown *ss n****s.”

According to B.o.B., the whole ordeal was based on an artistic whim. “He just heard me on the radio rapping about whatever the f**k I was rapping about and was like, ‘Who the f**k is this guy?’ And it ended up in his lyrics.”

The newly confirmed truce comes on the heels of B.o.B.’s recently released single “So Good,” which has risen to iTunes’ top 5 downloaded songs in less than a week. The song is the third release from his upcoming album Stranger Clouds, due out May 1.
