Chris Brown Debuts New Single

This weekend Chris Brown released another new track. Just a few days after the debut of the confessional “How I Feel,” Brown took to Twitter once again to announce his latest free song. After posting a link to the video he wrote to fans, “love you team breezy!!!”

With electronic beats backing up his smooth vocals, the Drumma Boy-produced R&B track “F*** the City Up” details a night spent with Brown. Describing “a bubble bath, rose pedals on the floor” Brown sings the chorus passionately:

“Yeah girl / Whenever I’m in your city / You know I’ma blow by with it / I’ma f— the city up / Now I’ma give my love to you / Til you / I’ma f— this city up.”

With a surprise rap feature showcasing Brown’s skills, it will take a lot more than talent to win people back on his side.

“No, it’s not a good idea to make a track called “F*** the City Up” if you’re Chris Brown, for reasons that should be too obvious to even mention,” Pop Dust writes. “It’s not a good idea to talk about f***ing things up then act incredulous that people might see a second meaning to the phrase. It’s definitely not a good idea to talk about f***ing things up as a romantic metaphor.”

While other websites wonder if he is singing to his current girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, or Rihanna, he doesn’t seem to care. Instead, Brown is allowing fans to decide for themselves with free music.

Earlier this month, Brown debuted the artwork to his forthcoming album, Fortune. His fifth studio LP, the album will be released in the U.S. May 8.
