J. Cole released the latest music video from his upcoming debut album, Cole World: The Sideline Story. Directed by Colin Tiley, “Nobody’s Perfect” follows Cole in his apartment and shows behind-the-scenes footage.

The video begins with Cole typing on a computer while eerie music is played in the background. As a montage of flashbacks are shown, Cole’s smooth vocals are soon heard.

“Yeah, this is for all the fans that waited . . . look Mama we made it,” he raps.

In the bedroom multiple cameras are set up on tripods as Cole stares intently at each. Meanwhile, images of bags of money, dead fish, and red solo cups are displayed. Perhaps a view into his daily life, the lighting rotates from color to black and white.

Halfway through, Missy Elliott provides a soulful rendition of the chorus. Watch below.

While Cole has been collaborating with artists including Mike Posner and Melanie Fiona he is also working on his own material. His debut LP, Cole World: The Sideline Story is due for release later this year.

Earlier this month, Cole’s hometown of Fayetteville, North Carolina, held an inaugural “Dreamville Weekend” in honor of his success.

The weekend consisted of three days of festivities for all his hometown fans. In addition to a special hometown performance, and dinner with the mayor, Cole returned to his alma mater Terry Sanford High School and spoke with students.
