Eva Simons may not be a household name just yet, but if her new single is any indication she just may become one this summer.

In 2010, Eva co-wrote popular dance hit “Take Over Control.” Produced by Afrojack, the track sold nearly a million downloads in the U.S. Her latest single “I Don’t Like You” embodies a dynamic club beat alongside Eva’s smooth vocals and just might become her breakthrough hit.

While her debut album is due in 2012, she has been working with A-list musicians including Chris Brown, will.i.am and LMFAO for years. In 2009 she was featured on Brown’s song “Pass Out” showcased on his album Graffiti. The following year Afrojack helped produce hit single “Take Over Control.” More recently Eva has collaborated with will.i.am on his upcoming release as well as LMFAO’s 2011 album Sorry for Party Rocking.

The music video for “I Don’t Like You” begins with Eva finding out her man is unfaithful. Eva and two friends then take action by breaking in and trashing his apartment. Not an entirely new concept, artists like Pink and even Taylor Swift have done so in videos “There You Go” and “Picture To Burn.”

“Where did we go wrong/ I don’t even like you now/ Forget you,” Eva sings passionately.

In an interview at Miami’s Winter Music Conference Eva spoke of her writing process with collaborator Mike Hamilton.

“We write about stories. Things we go through. It’s just unfiltered lifestyle music,” she said. “I’m not trying to be anybody. I’m just trying to be myself and say what I want to say.”

Eva is currently finishing up her debut album that’s due for release later this year before she heads out on tour with LMFAO.

“[I’ve] been having great fun with this album, exploring and defining my artistic sound, and in doing so defining my own identity,” Eva said.
