Claressa Shields won the first women’s boxing gold in US history yesterday at the 2012 Olympics in London. The 17-year-old Shields from just up the road on I-75 in Flint beat Russian Nadezda Torlopova 19-12 to win the gold in the middleweight division.

It was just the second medal ever in boxing for US women. Check out pictures from the Gold Medal fight below:
