Remember Bill Nye “The Science Guy?”  Of course you do.  He was the guy with the fun science show that was slightly less gross than Beakman’s World.  Bill’s been out of the public eye for a minute, but he just dropped a new Youtube video entitled “Creationism is not appropriate for children.”

In the video, Nye says that one’s “world just becomes fantastically complicated when you don’t believe in evolution.”  He also goes on to imply that the denial of evolution is unique to the United States, and to encourage parents not to deny teaching evolution because “We need scientifically literate voters and taxpayers for the future. We need people that can — we need engineers that can build stuff, solve problems.”  I’m not 100% sure what’s going on here, but it seems as though Bill is insinuating that problem solving skills are directly related to one’s knowledge of evolution.  Maybe his own problem solving skills aren’t quite up to par?
