What will Nicki Minaj unleash on the public at tonight’s MTV Music Video Awards show? While Barbz across Twitterland speculate, five previous TV performances reveal everything a Minaj watcher needs to know about what to expect from her big night.

As an Awards show performer, the YMCMB rhyme diva will join mentor Lil Wayne, Rihanna, Frank Ocean, Taylor Swift and more. Minaj is nominated for three VMAs, including a nod for Best Hip-Hop Video for “Beez in the Trap.” While the world wonders what type of surprises Minaj will come up with next, her five most memorable TV appearances offer all the answers.

5. MTV VMAs—2010
NOTE: There will be a guest performer, there will be controversy.

Before opening up for pop behemoth Britney Spears; joining the iconic Madonna for the Super Bowl Halftime Show; or headlining her own tour, Nicki Minaj was relegated to Pre-MTV Video Music Award duties. This is what folks call in the entertainment biz as “paying your dues.” For Minaj’s VMA debut, the former mixtape queen rocked a portion of her dreamy single “Your Love” and joined Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am for a performance of their poppy rap mash-up “Check It Out.” But the eccentric rap chick still managed to make headlines with her wild, futuristic costume and pink beehive hairdo and Will.i.am’s puzzling ode to black face.

4. BET Awards—2012
NOTE: Seven-second delay may miss something.

Nicki is not afraid of the censors. They fear her. One of Minaj’s most confident performances found the rapper being backed by strings and joined by current swag rap favorite 2 Chainz on the tracks “Champion” and “Beez In The Trap.” It was a sexy, offbeat affair that would have reached even greater heights if the obscenity police weren’t so trigger-happy with the censor button.

3. Tonight Show with Jay Leno—2012
NOTE: There will be a colorful outfit with a sexy twist. (Like a halloween costume).

This energetic performance got the crowd out of their seats. As for Nicki’s gold, curve hugging, provocative outfit, well, let’s just say it didn’t leave a lot to the imagination.

2. Good Morning America—2011
NOTE: Be prepared to catch a wardrobe malfunction. Never know when one will pop up.

The GMA show didn’t rise to the level of Janet Jackson‘s “Nipple-gate” but Minaj’s slight wardrobe malfunction still made DVRs work overtime. If you saw the show live, you will never hear “Super Bass” the same again. See it for yourself, here

1. Grammy Awards—2012
NOTE: Don’t be surprised when she performs like a woman possessed

Nicki Minaj’s infamous “Roman Holiday” showcase was a twisted amalgamation of The Flying Nun, The Exorcist, and The Sound of Music. Of course, you knew you were in for something truly surreal when Minaj walked onto the red carpet looking like a naughty Little Red Riding Hood accompanied by a man dressed as the pope. It was a spectacle of epic proportions, God bless her soul.
