Jay-Z took a train, brought out Beyonce, and recorded a live disc for the finale of his Brooklyn Barclays Center homecoming show on Saturday (October 6).

For the final show, Jay-Z took a subway to the arena. There was a throng of surprised straphangers who captured the moment on mobile devices. [Check out footage of his subway ride, here.]

After much speculation concerning the special guests who might appear at his homecoming shows, Beyonce was the big prize.

She joined Jay-Z on stage for a performance of their 2003 collaboration “Crazy In Love” and “Diva” from her 2009 album I Am. The pair finally closed the night with “Young Forever” from Jay’s Blueprint 3, with Beyonce standing in for Mr. Hudson, who sings the original chorus.

The footage and some of the recording from the night will be made available on a Jay-Z Live In Brooklyn eight-song EP. —E. Parker, CBS Local
