Roxanne’s Fav Show: X Factor The Top 12!

The X Factor live show’s are here!  Last night the judges had to pick the top 12.  It wasn’t as predictable as one would think.  They were a couple big surprises!

Demi Lovato with her young adult’s went first sending Jennel Garcia and Paige Thomas directly to the top.  CeCe  Frey and Willie Jones  had to sing to survive. CeCe who had a horrible performance the night before, got it right last night.  CeCe sang Irene Cara’s “Out Here On My Own” and Willie  gave it his best shot singing Ray Charles’ “You Don’t Know Me.”  Demi picked CeCe over Willie which was the right choice, even though I thought Demi was kind of rude to Willie telling him he’s boring and it’s not his time.  Way to go mentor, couldn’t find anything positive and encouraging to say??!?!  Poor Willie.  His style is a unique blend of country and r&b, and it will be interesting to see what will become of Willie Jones down the road….. I think there is a place for him in music.

L.A. Reid was up next with his over 25 group, and I think his cut was the BIGGEST surprise of the night! L.A. saved rocker Vino Alan and country big daddy Tate Stevens.  David Correy  had to face off against the flamboyant Jason Brock. David sang his ass off on his take of Kelly Clarksons, Since You’ve been Gone.  I thought he nailed and I LOVED his emotional performance!!  Once again Demi in a not so nice tone had harsh words to say to David expressing to him that he over sang it, and that she didn’t like his version.  Who the hell is she to say that to him…. seriously. Only Simon can get away with being brutally honest.  That wasn’t a good look for Demi at all!!   Jason gave a solid performance of Whitney Houston’s, One Moment In Time. At the end L.A. had to let one go.  After saying one is an entertainer, and the other is a superstar, I thought for sure that L.A. was going with the superstar.  However he sent home the superstar which was David Correy. WOW, I couldn’t believe it. I know David will be a singer we hear from again….. he is the truth!

Britney  Spears and her teens were next. The standout favorites Beatrice Miller and Carly Rose Sonenclar were directly sent to the top 12.  Arin Ray and  Diamond White were left to compete in the sing off.  They both did an amazing job. Ray gave it his all singing Whitney Houston’s “I Look to You,” and White  belted out Elton John’s “Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word.”  That was a tough call for Britney to make.  Diamond is like 13 and I think her age became a factor.  Arin is a little older, has a look, confidence, and superstar potential.  Think Usher /Chris Brown kind of a thing.  In the end Britney sent Diamond White home which I think was the right choice.  Diamond will shine again…..

Then came my man Simon Cowell who rocks!! He makes the show and he knows it!! Simon has the groups and it was obvious that he would send Lyric 145 and Emblem 3 to the top 12 because they had the strongest performances the night before.  That left the country girls Sister C and 1432 to have a sing off. Sister C didn’t quite do it singing Miley Cyrus’ “When I Look at You.” 1432 made a bold move singing Demi Lovato’s “Skyscraper,”  and they delivered it better than the original singer!!!  Demi herself even admitted it.   Simon sent Sister C home…..  see ya girls…. they were not my favorite.

Britney Spears is receiving some harsh criticism for having few little words to say.  I suppose it’s just not her style to be too opinionated.  At least she has encouraging words to say the singers, and you need that in at least one judge.  Demi needs to slow down.  For someone who was bullied she wasn’t too nice last night.  What do you think of the top 12?  Who’s your favorite to win it all?

Here’s David Correy’s performance.  Do you think he should of been sent home?
