Selena Gomez Named Glamour’s Woman Of The Year

Selena Gomez has been named Glamour magazine’s Woman of the Year. Gomez is on the December cover looking old-Hollywood glam in a long cream-colored gown with bright red lipstick surrounded by red balloons.

She said: “Woman of the Year — I didn’t even know I was a woman! I’m very honored and it’s a very, very big deal to me. I’m going to hold it close to my heart.”

Gomez was recognized for not only her work in front of the camera, but off as well. She is UNICEF’s youngest ambassador ever and serves as ambassador for the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, which creates programs for pediatric hospitals for seriously injured children.

Gomez also opened up about her friendship with Taylor Swift and how their relationship is just as normal as any other friendship.

She said: “Taylor’s amazing. She’s so smart and sweet and humble — and she’s way more successful than I am! So when I see her after everything she’s been through and she just wants to go home and bake cookies with me. That, to me, is awesome.”

She also talked about her relationship with Justin Bieber’s fans and understands why his Beliebers are overly protective.

She said: “I adore his fans. I would never, ever want to disrespect them. You know, I get it: I was obsessed with Jesse McCartney growing up! He was my world. My high school crush. So I respect it, and if anything, I admire it.”
