Kevin Clash has resigned from Sesame Street as the voice of Elmo due to the allegations that he had sex with two underage boys.  The damage is done and now it’s time to move forward, but can we? It’s not Elmo’s fault that Clash is a freak,  but his voice for me will always be heard differently.

Hasbro says that they are sticking by Elmo’s side and will continue to sell Elmo related toys.  With the holidays here Elmo has always been a popular toy, and I’m curious to see if there is still a demand for him.  Little kids of course don’t know what’s going on but parent’s do, and it will be interesting to see what happens with Elmo’s popularity.

My children are past the Elmo stage of toys but when they were little they LOVED Elmo, and we have a ton of Elmo toys still.  I personally just have an uneasy feeling when I see or hear Elmo right now, and that’s really unfortunate.  How do you feel? Will you be buying Elmo toys this holiday season?
