Ariana Grande Opens Up About Debut Album ‘Yours Truly’

In a world of bubble gum pop and auto tune singers, it’s refreshing when you hear a singer like Ariana Grande! This girl is having a moment, and as a big music fan of “real singers” I’m loving it! If you missed her on the Today Show check it out!

Ariana Grande who’s a popular Nickelodeon star from the hit show Sam and Cat is out promoting her new album, Yours Truly. When she was in Detroit recently she brought a close friend along… Nathan from The Wanted! The two haven’t gone “public” so to say about their romance, but they aren’t denying it either.

The two met when they collaborated on the song “Almost Is Never Enough” for Arian’s new album Yours Truly. Here’s what she told MTV about that experience:

“Nathan just sang the hell out of it. I thought it was Brian McKnight. I’m like ‘Who is this?’ Honestly, I wasn’t expecting it. I didn’t know he had that in him. I saw him perform live on one of the radio shows that we were at together and I was like, ‘Damn he can sing!’ This song, I think, will pleasantly surprise a lot of people.”

Yours Truly is in stores now!

“I feel like some of the most important years of my life have been captured in this album and some of my most important experiences like relationship-wise. So many things I’ve learned I’ll remember when I listen back to these songs. It’s just such a special thing for me. I can’t wait for my fans to hear it.”

Grande reveals one song, the retro-soul “Honeymoon Avenue” is the most personal and one she finds difficult to sing.

“I almost cried last night when I was singing it onstage, ’cause it’s about something that’s so special to me when I hear it. It strikes a personal chord,” she explains. “‘Honeymoon Avenue’ is about knowing you are at the end of a relationship and wishing it could not be the end and go back to the beginning and start over.”
