To get you caught up on this little pop-star cat fight that has been brewing… singer Lorde, who’s smash hit Royals has taken the world by storm, isn’t too impressed with other femail pop singers. Back in September she had an interview with New Zealand’s Metro magazine, where she opened up about her beliefs on feminism. In the interview she stated that Taylor Swift “isn’t good for young girls.”

Now, the feminist teen said this about Miley Cyrus,

“I love Top 40 pop, don’t get me wrong. I just don’t think that there’s anyone in Top 40 pop that’s ‘real.’ Is there though? I’m just not sure… I mean that Miley Cyrus song [‘We Can’t Stop’]. That could be her life. Who knows what’s real? That’s the point though; who knows what’s real?”

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone Lorde went after Selena Gomez saying,

“I love pop music on a sonic level. But I’m a feminist, and the theme of her song ‘Come & Get It’ is, ‘When you’re ready, come and get it from me.’ I’m sick of women being portrayed this way.”

Then Gomez fired back in an interview with Flaunt magazine saying,

“That’s not feminism. [Lorde is] not supporting other women. That’s my honest opinion, that’s what I would say to her if I saw her.” Selena went on to say, “I actually covered her song in all of my shows that I’ve done so far. I’m not sure if I’m going to continue that.”

Selena actually does a really nice job covering Royals, but I guess we won’t see that during her Detroit show!

It sounds like Lorde is not interested in making friends with fellow pop-stars in the music industry. She totally slammed the idea of working with David Guetta! Her manager said that Guetta wanted to work with her on his next album and she replies, “No. F*ck no. He’s so gross.”

What do you guys think of this? Should Lorde keep her mouth shut and play nice or keep saying whatever is on her mind?
