More bad press getting out on Britney Spears who just kicked off her Piece of Me Las Vegas shows. Apparently some fans dished out 2,500 for a chance to meet the pop princess and were not satisfied with their meet & greet experience. According to reports fans only had a few seconds with the singer:

“Fans were told before the meet-and-greet that they were not to hug or touch Britney without her permission and they weren’t allowed to bring her any gifts. And then once they finally got to meet her it was like smile, take a photo, goodbye. Each person literally got like 3-seconds with her … Fans were anticipating a flashy meet-and-greet with Britney but instead it was just awkward and uncomfortable. She barely spoke. She just smiled and nodded and said ‘thank-you’ a lot.”

I hate to break it to these fans but most meet & greets are always go really quickly. It’s up to the artist to make it memorable. It is unfortunate that Britney didn’t give them a memorable experience, even if she had to cut it short.

When I went to the Justin Bieber’s meet & greet there were at least 500 fans, if not more, in line. So the time a fan got to “meet” him obviously couldn’t last long.  They have to move it along to start the show or get to the next city! Even though it went very quickly, Justin was so sweet in those seconds, he gave high five’s and hugged us. When I met Maroon 5, the same thing happened. It was pretty quick, but the guys were fun and we briefly joked about Detroit.

I met Britney Spears a couple times back in the day… She’s was quiet but sweet. I wasn’t expecting to be able to interview her or any of the other artists that I’ve been lucky enough to meet. At the same time, I’ve didn’t spend thousands of dollars either on a pass.

So would you pay for a Britney Spears meet and greet?
