When it comes to Khloe Kardashian’s marriage to Lamar Odom, all signs have pretty much pointed to ‘over.’

The 29-year-old reality starlet filed for divorce last December following a series of issues with her now estranged husband, including a DUI arrest and allegations of drug use and infidelity.

However, during a recent interview with US Weekly, Odom made some surprising comments about his hopes for his future with Khloe.

“I love my wife. She’ll always be my wife, no matter what,” the troubled athlete told US Weekly. “Who knows? We don’t know exactly if [the divorce is going through]. Only time will tell. I hope not. But even if we were divorced, she would always be my wife.”

“Those were some of the best years of my life,” Odom continued. “Being married and being married to a woman I decided to marry was, besides having children, the most important thing in my life.”

Odom spoke to US Weekly following a press conference in Spain, where the 34-year-old basketball player has been recruited to play on a two-month contract with the Laboral Kutxa.

E! News also reports that Odom was spotted still wearing his wedding ring at LAX while on his way to Europe.

Kardashian and Odom, who appeared on the E! reality shows Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Khloe and Lamar, married in 2009 after a month-long courtship. The youngest of the Kardashian sisters has yet to respond to Odom’s comments.
