This story just hurts my heart. It happened about 40 miles north of here in Goodrich. An elementary school teacher took video on her cell phone of an 11-year-old autistic student stuck in a chair. And it gets worse.

When the maintenance workers were on their way to free the boy, the principal can allegedly be heard on the video in the background making remarks like, “It’s not really an emergency in their book.”

Yesterday, the principal resigned after emailing staffers a video of the autistic boy who got his head stuck in a chair, according to Flint station WJRT. The teacher who took the video can be heard asking the boy how it happened and if he wanted to be “tasered.”

The school board reportedly accepted the principal’s resignation and are looking into firing the teacher responsible for recording the video. The boy’s parents are said to be considering a lawsuit.
