Gwyneth Paltrow And Chris Martin Call It Quits

After over a decade of marriage, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are calling it quits.

The news broke yesterday (March 24) that the 41-year-old actress and 37-year-old Coldplay frontman had decided to split when Paltrow took to her website Goop to post the a note entitled “Conscious Uncoupling:”

It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate. We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate. We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been. We are parents first and foremost, to two incredibly wonderful children and we ask for their and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time. We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and co-parent, we will be able to continue in the same manner.”

Paltrow and Martin began dating in 2002 after meeting at a Coldplay concert and married the following year. Together they have two children, 9-year-old Apple and 7-year-old Moses.

Meanwhile, the estranged couple will remain busy, as Gwyneth has a new movie on the way alongside Johnny Depp and Martin continues to promote Coldplay’s forthcoming album Ghost Stories, which is due out in May. The singer will also appear on The Voice later this month.

With so many public appearances on the horizon, we hope that their request for privacy will be respected and they are able to work through this difficult time as a family.
