Amanda Bynes turned 28 last Thursday and treated herself to some fun in the sun!

Over the weekend, the actress-turned fashion design student took to Twitter to thank fans for all of the birthday love and to show off her bikini body in a couple of photos.

According to E! News, Bynes is spending her spring break in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with her parents Lynn and Rick, celebrating both her birthday and the completion of her first quarter at California’s Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, where she is currently enrolled.

In the pics, Bynes looks beautiful and relaxed as she catches some rays and smiles for the camera.

With her troubles from last year seemingly fading into the distance, we’d say that the Easy A star certainly deserves a vacation. Having spent a large portion of 2013 in a court-ordered rehab facility for mental health issues, Bynes was released to the custody of her mother in December and has been focusing on her studies and outpatient treatment at since that time.

Last month, Bynes made her return to Twitter, deleting all of her controversial posts and replacing them instead with a few positive updates.

“Hi everyone! I’m busy studying at @FIDM but I want to say I love you to my fans! Xoxo Amanda,” she wrote on March 1, also posting a sketch and some photos from a recent school fashion show.

Are you looking forward to seeing some of Amanda’s fashion designs? Or are you hoping she’ll make her return to the silver screen? Sound off below!
