This isn’t about Green or Blue, this is about a young girl who lost her battle with cancer today. Lacey Holsworth (8), who was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma in 2011, became known around the country for always cheering on the Spartans and her best friend, #5 Adreian Payne. Lacey met Payne at the Children’s Hospital in East Lansing after he came to visit. They instantly became best friends and “Princess Lacey,” as she was known on Instagram, was in the crowd cheering him on at every State game this year.

This morning, her Instagram featured this message:

Princess Lacey has achieved the ultimate victory. She now dances among angels…. The world is a better place because you were in it. Our hearts are broken. We love you Doll. Dance all night… Mommy and Daddy, Will, Mitchell, and Luke💞 #LoveLikeLacey.

Michigan State Senior Adreian Payne was very close to Lacey, even carrying her out with him on Senior Night at the Breslin Center. My heart hurts for Lacey’s family, Adreian and the entire MSU fan base who grew so close to a special girl. RIP Lacey, may god rest your beautiful soul.
