As Iggy Azalea’s popularity continues to grow, her personal life has unsurprisingly been thrust into the spotlight, which has sparked speculation about her relationship status and sexual preferences.

During a recent interview with the LGBT website, the 23-year-old rapper opened up about her sexuality, and cleared up a few rumors in the meantime.

Regarding her songs that boast female themes, Azalea tells Pride Source, “I know I talk about women a lot, and I think women are beautiful and I like talking about them, but I didn’t want people to misconstrue that and think that I was being a fake lesbian. It wasn’t a, ‘Don’t think I’m gay,’ but more so me being like, ‘Hey, I’m not a fake lesbian.’”

She continues, “It’s almost like gay nowadays is so trendy that people want to be gay and then they don’t. I’m not gay. I love gay people, but I’m straight. I don’t wanna kiss girls. I’m not into girls. I appreciate women, and I like rapping about them, but in case you thought I was a lame person pretending to be gay, um, I’m not.”

During the interview, Azalea, who has been romantically linked to NBA player Nick Young, also refers to herself as a “drag queen,” stating, “I always call myself a drag queen. My hairdresser always says, ‘You’re a big drag queen. You’re in drag makeup, drag hair…’ And it’s true! I can’t help it!”

The Australian beauty was in Detroit over the weekend performing at St. Andrew’s Hall, and will continue on her tour in support of her second studio album The New Classic with dates scheduled through the end of May.

Meanwhile, her hit single “Fancy” currently sits at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Rap Songs Chart. Additionally, Iggy’s duet with Ariana Grande, “Problem,” debuted today (April 28) and shot to the top of the iTunes charts in 22 countries!
