With questions flying about the reason behind Solange’s elevator attack on Jay Z after the Met Ball, one source claims to have the answer!

According to The New York Daily News, the youngest Knowles sister went through the roof when she found out that her brother-in-law was planning on attending Rihanna’s after party without Beyoncé.

However, the source also alleges that the tension started building between the two hours earlier when a group of Solange’s friends showed up uninvited for the party at the Standard Hotel’s Boom Boom Room (where the fight went down) and tried to name-drop Jay.

When Bey’s security guard Julius told the couple what was going down, Jay allegedly told Solange she couldn’t “use [his] name,” which angered her.

Then, when Solange got wind that Jay Z had called off extra security before getting ready to head to Rihanna’s bash because his wife wouldn’t be coming with him, the 27-year-old singer REALLY went off.

“She seemed drunk and irritated,” a source told the NY Daily News. “She said, ‘Why can’t you go home?’ and to Beyonce ‘Why does your husband need to go to the club right now?’”

Then, Jay Z supposedly said the words that everyone has been speculating about…“You’re one to talk,” which apparently sent her into the rage that can be seen on video from the elevator security camera.

Meanwhile, People reports that Solange also argued with designer Rachel Roy (the sister of Jay Z’s longtime friend Damon Dash) earlier in the evening after Roy is said to have provoked her. Additionally, the mag suggests Solange’s attack on Jay Z was sparked by something inappropriate that he said to both her and her sister, and Solange’s reaction came from a place on protection.

Of course, the reports should all be taken with a grain of salt, and more stories will likely surface soon, but we want to know what you think! Share your opinion in the comments section below and read more on the original story HERE.
