After nearly two and a half years, have Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart decided to call it quits?

According to a report from US Weekly, the singer/actress and backup dancer-turned-choreographer have parted ways after growing distant over the past several months.

“It has actually been an amicable process that started a few months ago,” a source tells the mag. “It wasn’t an easy decision, but they decided to stay friends…Their relationship couldn’t work with the distance. He started trying to establish his own life and career, and she is so focused on hers, and they just couldn’t be all about each other anymore.”

The news comes amid rumors that Smart (27) had cheated on J. Lo (44) with a transsexual model who he was allegedly chatting with online.

Late last month, the gossip site The Dirty posted screen shots of what they claim to be conversations between Casper and Sofie Vissa on Instagram, which apparently included a few sexy selfies, though a source tells US Weekly that the story is “100 percent not true.”

Meanwhile, insiders claim that the rumors of Smart’s infidelity have nothing to do with his split with Lopez, and TMZ alleges that the two actually split a couple of months ago and opted to keep it quiet to avoid the press.

Additionally, an source tells People“They initially split about six weeks ago, but that can take a little time to extricate. But they’ve definitely broken up. The relationship had just run its course.”

Lopez is currently on the road in support of her forthcoming album AKA and was spotted hanging out with rapper T.I. after performing a free concert in her home borough of The Bronx on Wednesday.

Smart was noticeably absent from the show and the after party, though a source told The Daily Mail that he was working and unable to make it to New York.
