After hinting that a big announcement was on the way yesterday (June 16), Katy Perry made the big reveal this afternoon!

In partnership with Capitol Records, the “Dark Horse” singer has launched the new label Metamorphosis Music and even signed her first artist…who happens to be opening for her on her Prismatic World Tour later this month.

“Introducing my new label venture with @capitolrecords featuring my first artist FERRAS,” Perry wrote on Instagram.

Ferras, a singer/songwriter based out of Los Angeles, dropped his first EP today under the label, sharing a photo of the album cover on Instagram and stating, “The secret is out! I’ve signed to my dear friend @katyperry’s new record label Metamorphosis Music. Today is the day that my EP is finally out and I’m so happy I now get to share it. Let me know what u think!!!”

In an official press release (via US Weekly), Ferras (29) said of Perry’s skills as a producer, “Her instincts are really on point. She is very blunt and doesn’t sugar-coat things, which I appreciate. Also, she gave me the freedom to do what I wanted musically and was a natural partner.”

Perry also commented (via New York Daily News), “Ferras is a man with a message, and a unique lyrical way of communicating his perspective on life that makes you feel connected to every note when you listen. I believe he is going to be an important artist to watch unfold. I am SO ecstatic the world gets to hear his music now both online and on tour with me.”

Take a listen to the single “Legends Never Die” and tell us what you think!
