The gauntlet has been thrown down.

Yesterday (June 18), former congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords posted a photo to her Twitter in anticipation of throwing out the first pitch at the annual Congressional Women’s Softball Game, which pits women of Congress against female journalists.

The photo called out one person in particular, though he wasn’t playing in the game.

“.@50Cent,” she tweeted, “bet you my first pitch will be better than yours was!” She accompanied the tweet with a picture giving the thumbs up prior to the game.

Turns out her good-natured trash talking wasn’t unfounded. A Vine posted of the first pitch shows that it was, in fact, better; it actually came close to home plate.
