Today is the 5 year anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death and if you’re a big MJ fan like me, it is a sad day…

Michael Jackson was my Justin Bieber growing up.  He was my first musical obsession! My bedroom walls were plastered with Michael Jackson posters!  His music through the years became the soundtrack to my life!

Speaking of  Justin Bieber…the pop star also happens to be a big MJ fan, and I loved how he played all Michael Jackson songs before his concert started on his Believe tour.  As we sat there, I looked around at all the young girls wondering if they even knew all these songs.  I think it’s important for music fans to get to know the music that shaped this new generation of singers.

It’s unfortunate that the only memory a lot of the younger generation has about the King of Pop is mostly negative.  Drugs, plastic surgery, and legal woes were the black cloud over him in during his final years.  During the peak of his career, Jackson had become the biggest star in the world, selling more than 750 million albums, including the best-selling album of all time, Thriller.

It’s gonna be hard for another artist to generate those album sales…

Today, I celebrate the life of The King of Pop and the music that I still embrace!  I’ll forever love Michael Jackson!!

Nothing compares to Michael Jackson live and I’m lucky to have seen him in concert! This performance defined his solo career!

There are too many videos to post, but here’s a few of my favorites!

Rest in peace, Michael Jackson. You were a true talent and you are missed!
