Gillian’s Obsession: Peninsula Cellars

The old Maple Grove Schoolhouse on the Old Mission Peninsula near Traverse City, Michigan. The building is now used as a tasting room for a local winery.

It’s a family run winery located on the Old Mission Peninsula, just north of Traverse City, Michigan. Now the wine was delicious. I’m a big fan of dry whites and they had a really good one 2013 Manigold Gewurztraminer $19.99/bottle.

That’s all well and good but my favorite thing is that this school house is haunted! I was there with a few friends and the lady who works there was telling us about all this weird stuff that goes down there at night. Pictures fling themselves off the walls! The story is that the lady who taught there for her whole life, she was a devout Catholic, never drank was never married, they think she’s mad that the school house was turned into a winery.

If you aren’t a huge fan of ghosts the wine is awesome. You can get all the info right HERE.
