It seems as though every famous couple is constantly “on the rocks” according to the gossip rags, and lately, the rumor mill has been turning on full blast for Beyoncé and Jay Z.
Despite the fact that the two are currently on a co-headlining tour together, reports have been surfacing that music’s No. 1 power couple are on the verge of a divorce.
Over the weekend, the New York Post’s Page Six added a ton of fuel to the fire by posting an article that suggested the two are only staying together for the time being so that they can finish out their massive concert run.
“They are trying to figure out a way to split without divorcing…This is a huge concert tour and they’ve already gotten most of the money from the promoters up front,” a supposed insider told Page Six. “There are no rings, if you haven’t noticed.”
Meanwhile, The Mirror reported earlier this month that the two have been going through marriage counseling while on their On The Run tour, noting that it’s just standard procedure for the couple.
“It’s about maintenance rather than trying to fix anything hugely wrong,” a source told the UK site. “They are both happy and their daughter, Blue Ivy, remains their absolute priority.”
Rumors of trouble first started back in May when video surfaced of Beyonce’s sister Solange attacking Jay Z in an elevator at a Met Gala after party, with many saying it was because of his supposed ‘too-close-for-comfort’ relationship with designer Rachel Roy.
Then, Beyoncé caused even more controversy on tour earlier this month when she changed they lyrics to her song “Resentment,” which is about a man cheating on a woman, from “been riding with you for six years” to “been riding with you for 12 years” – the amount of time she and Jay have been together.
Still, amid all the controversy, the two superstars seem united, with Beyoncé taking to Instagram this week to post an adorable family photo which shows them holding daughter Blue Ivy by the hands.
Additionally, E! News reported that the famous duo spent the weekend having a blast at a roller skating rink in Houston with their tour crew, and enjoyed a dinner with Solange while in New Orleans earlier this week.
