Roxanne’s Grammy Wrap Up! Sam Smith Owns The Night!

Music’s Biggest Night went down yesterday, and The Grammys definitely didn’t disappoint!

All the fun for me started when my favorite singers walked the red carpet! Usher, Ne-Yo and Ed Sheeran all caught my eye!

I loved Gwen Stefani‘s Versace jumpsuit and Nicki Minaj was like BAM in her deep plunging Tom Ford gown.

Talk about all the right junk in all the right places!

I also loved Miley Cyrus who was fresh-faced and gorgeous and Lady Gaga had the best make-up of the night in my opinion! Her green cat eyes with the perfect place emerald green jewel necklace was HOT!

Showtime! If you didn’t know that singer/songwriter Sam Smith is the real deal, you know it now!

Smith, who had probably the best night ever winning 4 of his 6 nominations, scored the first award of the night for Best New Artist!

Taylor Swift presented the award and I love how she got her jab in by saying she didn’t win in 2008 and everything turned out fine for her! Can we talk about how dapper Smith looked in that red suit?!

When Smith stunned the crowd winning Best Pop Vocal Album he had this to say:

“It was only until I started to be myself that the music started to flow and people started to listen.”

As the night went on and the awards kept coming, Smith had this to say with the biggest smile on his face after winning Song of the Year, joking “I’m having a really really good night.”

Indeed he was! I was happy to see Sam Smith perform but honestly didn’t need Mary J. Blige with him, and I love Mary J! I just think the song is better without her. But the Grammys love to pair up singers.

Jessie J and Tom Jones was kind of odd for me too…

There are so many things to talk about! I loved Pharrell’s performance of “Happy,” but I did secretly wish for some minions to appear!

One of my favorite performances of the night was from Miranda Lambert! She looked fantastic in those tight leather pants and studded cowboy boots. I loved how she got sassy on stage and she was having fun! I feel like so many performances are a little stiff because of nerves. It was like she didn’t give s***!

I thought Madonna gave a great performance too! At 56, she looks amazing! You can’t deny the Queen of Pop her stage time! Get over it haters!

And when Ed Sheeran FINALLY hit the stage, social media went crazy!!! We love this sexy ginger and together with John Mayer performing “Thinking Out Loud” was perfection!!!

My sugar Adam Levine and Gwen Stefani dazzled the crowd! Earlier on the red carpet, Gwen talked about how she didn’t think she’d be back at the Grammys performing being that she took a break from music. She should never go away again!

Another highlight for me was Hozier and Annie Lennox doing “Take Me To Church” and “I Put a Spell On You.” Hozier was another one who I felt was having a good time on stage not affected by the star-studded audience in front of him.

And Annie Lennox, whatever her age, her voice just soared!

Katy Perry had me in tears with her powerful message and performance of “By The Grace of God.”

I also LOVED Usher’s performance! He looked and sounded flawless!

Also, I was digging Rihanna, Kanye and Sir Paul McCartney’s “FourFiveSeconds” performance! I prefer her black suit over that enormous pink dress RiRi walked the red carpet in! She could barely even fit in her seat!

Then came the SHOCKER of the evening when Beck took home the Grammy for Album of the Year. No disrespect to Beck, who’s an extremely talented singer, producer and musician. He just wasn’t my choice for Album of the Year and in general not my cup of tea.

His performance with Chris Martin put me to sleep.

Then came the Queen Bey! Beyonce was like an angel and gave a powerful performance followed by John Legend and Common.

Curtains closed…

Overall I enjoyed music’s big night out! What was your favorite moments at the Grammys?
