Eminem‘s sister-in-law Dawn Scott has died of a reported drug overdose.

RadarOnline is reporting that the 41-year-old, who is the twin sister of Eminem’s ex-wife Kim and mother of their adopted daughter Alaina, was found dead in her home in Motor City Trailer Park on Tuesday (January 19), not too far from where the rapper and two sisters grew up together.

Warren police apparently said in a statement that the cause of death was, “an apparent heroin overdose,” but a toxicology report is still pending. Scott is said to have struggled with drug addiction for quite some time, even telling Radar back in August that Mathers and her sister had cut her off in recent years.

In a message on her memorial page, Kim wrote, “Dawn was my sweet, beautiful sister who lost her way. I kept a light lit for her hoping she’d find her way back to me. I miss her and love her more than anything I could ever say. I wish she was here so I could hug her and tell her I love her.”

“Half of me is gone and I will never feel whole again,” she continues. “She made me laugh and kept me on my toes. She was the best sister and friend in the world and I will miss her until we are together again.”

Our thoughts are with the Mathers and Scott families during this difficult time.
