In the wake of Taylor Swift‘s breakup with Tom Hiddleston, another one of her famous exes has gotten candid about their relationship.

Despite the rumors that Swift had cheated on Calvin Harris with Hiddleston, the EDM star didn’t have anything negative to say about his ex-girlfriend during a recent interview for GQ’s Men of the Year issue.

“It’s very difficult when something I consider so personal plays out very publicly,” he explained of the romance (via Us Weekly). “The aftermath of the relationship was way more heavily publicized than the relationship itself.”

“When we were together, we were very careful for it not to be a media circus. She respected my feelings in that sense,” Harris continued. “For both of us it was the wrong situation. It clearly wasn’t right, so it ended…”

Regarding those now infamous tweets that he sent following allegations from Swift’s camp that she was responsible for writing “This is What You Came For,” Harris says he regrets getting so worked up about it.

“It was completely the wrong instinct. I was protecting what I see as my one talent in the world being belittled,” he said. “It felt like things were piling on top of me and that was when I snapped. I’m not good at being a celebrity, but when it ended, all hell broke loose. Now I see that Twitter thing as a result of me succumbing to pressure. It took me a minute to realize that none of that matters. I’m a positive guy.”

The “How Deep is Your Love” hitmaker also seemed to hint at the breakup while accepting his GQ award for Solo Artist of the Year.

As he was thanking his manager Mark Gillespie, Harris said, “We started out at the same time. We discovered a lot of new exciting experiences together, whether it be touring together or dealing with endless amount of bull*** that’s written about people in 2016. So thank you.”

Harris has been having quite a good few weeks. After taking home his first ever VMA award earlier this month, the 32-year-old Scottish heartthrob was romantically linked to Mexican actress/singer Eiza González.

And with that, it appears that any “Bad Blood” between him and Swift has officially dissolved.
