The band selected Ghostface Killah's classic.

During her appearance on The Tonight Show last night, Hillary Clinton’s walk-on music came with a wink and a nod. House band the Roots played Ghostface Killah’s “Mighty Healthy,” seeming to address (or at least mention) Clinton’s recent pneumonia diagnosis and release of medical records.

The Roots have a history of selecting walk-on music to make a point, or at least an observation. When conservative Congresswoman and then-presidential candidate Michele Bachmann appeared on the show in 2011, the band selected Fishbone’s 1985 track “Lyin’ Ass B—-,” which ignited controversy and ended in an apology. Earlier this month, the Roots played Erykah Badu’s “20 Feet Tall” when Donald Trump took the stage. The song features the lyrics “Then you, you built a wall/A 20-foot wall/So I couldn’t see,” an apparent send-up of Trump’s promise to build a border wall between the U.S. and Mexico.
