After several days of social media silence, Kourtney Kardashian has broken the family’s self-imposed blackout.

Taking to Twitter last night, the 37-year-old reality TV star seemingly shared her thoughts about her sister Kim Kardashian‘s robbery in Paris through a passage in her prayer book.

“Remember that joy is not dependent on your circumstances. Some of the world’s most miserable people are those whose circumstances seem the most enviable,” it reads. “People who reach the top of the ladder career-wise are often surprised to find emptiness awaiting them. True Joy is a by-product of living in My Presence. Therefore you can experience it in palaces, in prisons…anywhere.”

Kourtney was in Paris with Kim and their sister Kendall Jenner at the time of the robbery, during which five gunmen held Kardashian in a bathtub in the family’s hotel room and made off with a reported $10 million worth of jewelry.

At the time of the incident, Kardashian’s bodyguard Pascal Duvier was with Kourtney and Kendall at a nightclub, as Kim apparently felt safe enough to stay on her own.

Since the robbery, the family is reportedly beefing up on their security, and limiting their use of social media to increase their safety.
