Shailene Woodley was arrested today.

According to TMZ, the Divergent actress was reportedly charged for trespassing in Sioux County, North Dakota while protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline.

Woodley and about 100 others were apparently engaged in a “peaceful protest” on the construction site of the controversial project when authorities showed up and handcuffed some of the protesters.

Via TMZ:

“The planned pipeline crosses sacred Standing Rock Sioux land and burial grounds. On Sunday, a Federal appeals court rejected their request to stop the construction … which sparked the protest. “

As E! News reports, the former Secret Life star (24) captured the whole ordeal on Facebook Live, including her conversation with police as she was being placed under arrest.

“Alright I’m being arrested,” she says in the video. “Because I was trespassing like everyone. As soon as you guys asked me to leave, I l left … I’m being arrested. I was down there with everybody else. I don’t know what’s going on? As soon as they came I left… it’s because I’m well known. It’s because I have 40,000 people watching.”

“So everybody knows…we were going to our vehicle which they had all surrounded and waiting for me with giant guns and a giant truck behind them just so they could arrest me,” she continues as they take her away in handcuffs. “I hope you’re watching mainstream media.”

Woodley is famously passionate about the environment, and often uses her platform as a celebrity to promote ways to be eco-friendly and environmentally conscious.
