Rapper and Detroit native Big Sean, 28, recently dropped his newest album I Decided. 

During this exciting point in his career, on his climb to owning the rap game, he had a few moments of reflection. Yesterday he shared an open letter that he wrote to his 18 year old self, and it’s intensely honest.

“Give these people a hero to look up to… a black one at that… one that the whole city can be proud of,” he tells himself.
